I figured that I would keep you in the loop…. you all have been so supportive of me and Belle.
I am still heartbroken over the loss of Belle, but since I pay pet rent, and have room in my home and my heart, I adopted this guy, Sir Ziggy Stardust von Sheppard III, from the shelter last Friday. He had been in the shelter since before Belle became a TriPawd, and has heart worms. The first two photos are of his freedom ride. He has to stay mellow for a month while the heart worms work their way out of his system, but after that, watch out! We’re going to have some fun.
I got some news about one of Belle’s friends, the Rotti around the corner, tonight. JJ is now a TriPawd. She had a tumor on her leg and they had to amputate it. JJ is on the left, Belle on the right. I wish I had known earlier. I donated all of Belle’s assist-ablity gear to Gunnar’s Wheels. I could have given them to David, to help with JJ. I sure hope JJ is going to be OK. When I see David again, I will tell him about TriPawds.com.
Take it easy,
Anne
HAPPY TEARS!!!!
Sir Ziggy Stardust von Sheppard III, you just won the Puppy Lottery!!
And I have no doubt that Belle had this planned all along! Think about it. Ziggy has been in the shelter since before Belle’s amp. That’s a really long time for a dog to be in a cage and to be overlooked time and time again. And there’s more proof that Belle made this connection happened. Your heart needs healing…..and Ziggy’s heart needs healing. π You both are helping to heal each other’s heart!ππ
I loooove the photos of Sir Ziggy Stardust von Sheppard III! In the photo in the car Ziggy looks excited and hopeful, and maybe a little uncertain.
The second photo, more hopeful and less uncertain. He knows his life has changed in a good way furever!!!
And then ZIGGY IS HOME!!!! He has toys, he has his security blanket and he is surrounded by more love and joy than he ever thought possible!!
To give Ziggy a chance at love is the best way possible to pay tribute to sweet Belleβ€ Yes, you will always have Belle in your heart, and you will always have room to let other dogs into your heart. People like you and like Shawn (and like me too) are not out best selves unless we have dogs in our lives.
Cannot wait to see more pictures of this adorable guy! I love his face, his coloring, and his sparkle in his eyes! PLEASE keep us updated and “in the loop” as Ziggy blossoms into the dog she was born to be!
Extra hugs to you and Ziggy Stardust
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
PS. Sending best wishes to JJ. Nice photo of sweet Belle and JJ. And nice of you to donate Belle’s stuff…cerymlife affirming β€
Thanks Sally!
I found out two things today….
JJ did not have an amputation, she had ACL surgery. Belle’s ACL surgery location is exactly where her cancer started. I hope that doesn’t happen to JJ.
Ziggy is not fond of children…. not good. He growled at Elliott, who Belle had done so much work with to help not be afraid of dogs. Oh, well. Nobody’s perfect and I’m planning to do basic training with him anyway. That’ll be something to work on.
Belle made sure she gave you a “project” π
I have NO doubt that you will help Ziggy evolve into a happy doggy as she sheds all jer insecurities.
This has to all be so overwhelming to her right now. And quite ….er….challenging to you on some levels.
Trul looking forward to following Ziggy and all the ways she evolves. With more pictures of course!!!
Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Thanks Sally! Ziggy is doing well. He really is a good dog. He’s learning fast. We had an issue about where it was proper to pee and not (outside, he has only had one accident inside), but I have been stern with him about trees being OK, potted plants and furniture, not OK. I think he’s getting it. He’s really good when I have a Belle breakdown. He snuggles with me and lets me know it’s OK. He’s settling in well π
