It’s likely the cancer has spread

A week ago I did the TriPawd Shuffle for a whole 2 block walk. Then my leg started giving out. On Wednesday we went to the vet and he said I had a torn (not completely) ACL. That again!!!! Anyway, on Thursday when Mommy took me out, I wasn’t using the leg at all and I didn’t pee. She called the vet and he said that if I didn’t pee all day to come in on Friday. So we did. We went in first thing Friday morning and saw our regular vet. We didn’t do a bunch of expensive tests, but the likelyhood is that the cancer that was in my amputated leg has metastasized and is causing my paralysis. I am a happy and hungry girl. As long as I’m happy and hungry, Mommy has agreed to clean up any little accidents I may have. We are back to using puppy piddle pads.

Mommy is no slouch, so she promptly asked around on Facebook if anyone had a wheelchair they would sell cheap. (Mommy has good wheelchair karma, because she donated her brother’s fancy wheelchair to his nursing home when he died.) Auntie Karen happened to be getting a new wheelchair for her Mom tomorrow, so guess who got a free wheelchair!?!?! Mommy really believes in karma. Here’s proof. Since I’m a big girl, this person wheelchair is perfect for me. Here’s a photo of me with my new wheels and my beloved Uncle Shawn. He helps me a lot and I love him more than anyone (including mean old Mommy).

I will be 9 on January 9th. Mommy is throwing a little birthday party for me. As long as I’m a happy, hungry girl, Mommy will not send me to the Rainbow Bridge. She has promised that she won’t let me suffer. Mommy assures me that my sister, Tiffany, is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge and will show me all the ropes. She’s a Rotti, too. She had osteosarcoma, too. I hear that most Rotties get it. Once I am not happy here on Earth anymore, I will be happy to meet my sister. For a long time people called me Tiffany. I used to think “Who is this Tiffany and why do they keep calling me that?” We will have a lot to talk about. Mommy and Uncle Shawn are sad, and Mommy is a huge crybaby, but we are all focusing on the positive and tonight I’m happy to have new wheels!

Oh, and I am Alpha Dog again. Mommy is a pushover, so I am calling all the shots. If I growl just right, she will pull out a dog bed and sleep on the floor with me. Boy do I have her trained well!

I'm an 8 year old Rotti, who has a mass in my left, rear leg, right where I got TTA surgery 3 years ago. This leg is literally a pain in my butt. It will be amputated on Tuesday. Mommy says that a week from today I will be feeling much better. I'm a little scared right now.

  1. BELLE!!! I LOVE SEEING YOUR HAPPY SMILING FACE STYLI N’ YOUR NEW WHEELCHAIR! Wheelchair karma definitely is at play here!

You have the best Uncle in the world! And now that you’ve gotten your Mom back in line and she let’s you do whatever you want, growling included, she’s clearly the best Mom in the world!!

And Belle, your Mom and Shawn have a good handle on things and are continuing to make each moment the best moment ever! They loooove you sooop mich, but you KNOW that! The three of you are quite a team! You’ve beaten the odds and you’ve overcome so many hurdles before, and I’m still placing my Vet on you to continue to do so!!!

In the meantime, you continue to soak up all the massive amount of spoiling, extra treats, food that was once forbidden, and pee in bed all you want! You’ve got your hoomans wrapped around yoir paws😎

Oh, and avout this birthday bash. I say get the PAWTY started and run it through the whole month of January!!!! Besides, I’m a January baby (an old as dirt “baby”) so we should PAWTY all month long!

    Lots of love and hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

    1. Thanks you!!!! We are PAWTYING, just because twice Mommy thought it was “the day,” and twice it was not. Mommy knows that as long as I am happy, we are good. Who cares if I can walk? All that heavy lifting is keeping Mommy and especially Uncle Shawn in shape. Shawn is way stronger than Mommy. He can pick me up like a baby and put me in the car, or wheelchair, or whatever. I am down to 77 lbs from 106 before surgery, and 123 when I used to have a really bad influence for a Daddy (reason #23 that Mommy’s a single girl these days).

  2. Belle, you sure are a lucky girl to have so many people who love you to the moon and back. I hope that you can continue to be happy and enjoy many more good times together!

    1. Thank you! I just woke Mommy up with my “talking” and she gave me a tramadol cookie. I get so much peanut butter these days.

  3. Aww Belle, you are stylin’ in your new wheels! You always look like such a happy pup! Happy Birthday girlie! I am a January birthday girl too! I think January makes pawsome babies πŸ’˜
I think pawtying all month long is a great idea!
Sending big hugs and belly rubs πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚

  4. HaHa…tramadol peanut butter cookies…yummy!

Just wanted to continue the birthday pawty and hoping you fget a scoop of ice cream to go with those tramadol cookiesπŸ˜‰

BTW…love your Mom’s #23 reason! Kick all bad influen7 to da’ curb!!

    1. I get chunky peanut butter. Mommy buys the smooth stuff, then loads it up with pills, so it’s chunky. I used to be a pill inspector, but Mommy explained to me that the pills make me feel better, so I take them. I’m a nearly 9 year old Rottweiler, I understand A LOT of English!
