Mommy says it’s time for me to start walking

I’m feeling better, so now it’s time to get strong again. Mommy is making me walk a little every day. She and Uncle Shawn help me and they bring my binky, and let me lie down as many times as I want, but they are making me walk.

Mommy is thinking about building me a wheelchair, but we’ll give it a few weeks and see how well I walk once I get my strength back.

I'm an 8 year old Rotti, who has a mass in my left, rear leg, right where I got TTA surgery 3 years ago. This leg is literally a pain in my butt. It will be amputated on Tuesday. Mommy says that a week from today I will be feeling much better. I'm a little scared right now.

  1. Dear Sweet Belle! Look at you go!! 😁😁I have a few happy tears rolling down my face! I am puffed up with pride like a proud Auntie! 😎😎

I’ve watched this three times now! Each time my grin gets bigger and bigger!! 😁 You ARE making progress sweet girl!!

Can’t remember if I mentioned this before, but if you have access to a Rehabilitation Specialist, they can do wonders for Tripawds when it comes to mobility. And the Tripawds Foundation will pay for the first visit! I know Belle still has some recovering to do from everything she’s been through, but it’s something to check into later.

Honest to goodness, this dog has stolen my heart. ❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀ And she certainly is well loved and well cared for😚

    Extra hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

  2. Thank You!!! She is getting better and better every day. We threw away another pill bottle today. We celebrate that. We only have 4 blue pills left. She takes 2 at a time, so only 2 more gags for the antibiotics!!! Yay!!! We see the vet again on Saturday and I just know that all of her chemistry will be better, if not normal. Hopefully the creatinine will have improved, too. Auntie Karen and Mommy might build a wheelchair. We’ll see. Belle was always bow legged in the back, and I think that makes it harder on her. We can use the wheelchair for longer walks and such.

  3. Thanks! I’ll look into it. She can walk, but not far at all. She was always bow legged before the surgery. Now she is also weak from being sick for so long after the surgery. I’m tapped out financially, so a friend and I are looking at making a wheelchair out of pvc to help her out a little. She will still have to walk, but sometimes she can wheel. We’ll see…. plans never work out like I think they will.
