I figured that I would keep you in the loop…. you all have been so supportive of me and Belle.

I am still heartbroken over the loss of Belle, but since I pay pet rent, and have room in my home and my heart, I adopted this guy, Sir Ziggy Stardust von Sheppard III, from the shelter last Friday. He had been in the shelter since before Belle became a TriPawd, and has heart worms. The first two photos are of his freedom ride. He has to stay mellow for a month while the heart worms work their way out of his system, but after that, watch out! We’re going to have some fun.

I got some news about one of Belle’s friends, the Rotti around the corner, tonight. JJ is now a TriPawd. She had a tumor on her leg and they had to amputate it. JJ is on the left, Belle on the right. I wish I had known earlier. I donated all of Belle’s assist-ablity gear to Gunnar’s Wheels. I could have given them to David, to help with JJ. I sure hope JJ is going to be OK. When I see David again, I will tell him about TriPawds.com.
Take it easy,
Anne
Yesterday we had a birthday party, because I would have turned 9 on Wednesday. Lots of friends stopped by and I got to eat McDonald’s, Hot Dogs, Cookies and Mom cooked me a Steak for dinner last night. Of course there were lots of furry friends at my party. At one point they were all running around, chasing each other. I really wanted to join in, but my back end didn’t work.
A week ago I did the TriPawd Shuffle for a whole 2 block walk. Then my leg started giving out. On Wednesday we went to the vet and he said I had a torn (not completely) ACL. That again!!!! Anyway, on Thursday when Mommy took me out, I wasn’t using the leg at all and I didn’t pee. She called the vet and he said that if I didn’t pee all day to come in on Friday. So we did. We went in first thing Friday morning and saw our regular vet. We didn’t do a bunch of expensive tests, but the likelyhood is that the cancer that was in my amputated leg has metastasized and is causing my paralysis. I am a happy and hungry girl. As long as I’m happy and hungry, Mommy has agreed to clean up any little accidents I may have. We are back to using puppy piddle pads.
Mommy is no slouch, so she promptly asked around on Facebook if anyone had a wheelchair they would sell cheap. (Mommy has good wheelchair karma, because she donated her brother’s fancy wheelchair to his nursing home when he died.) Auntie Karen happened to be getting a new wheelchair for her Mom tomorrow, so guess who got a free wheelchair!?!?! Mommy really believes in karma. Here’s proof. Since I’m a big girl, this person wheelchair is perfect for me. Here’s a photo of me with my new wheels and my beloved Uncle Shawn. He helps me a lot and I love him more than anyone (including mean old Mommy).
